Archway Food Justice is seeking community members to participate in the Abbotsford Food Charter initiative on Thursday, April 18th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and/or Wednesday, June 19th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
The purpose of a food charter is to create a set of goals that illustrate how community members envision a food secure, sustainable, and interconnected local food system where everyone has equitable access to the food they need.
Identified priority areas for food charters include:
- Health
- Education
- Economic Development and Sustainability
- Environment
- Culture
- Social Equity
We hope to involve community members, growers, businesses, policy makers, and service providers to envision the impacts of each factor. We will be hosting 2 more community engagement sessions:
- April 18, 2024, from 1:00-3:00pm at Legacy Sports Center (3270 Trethewey St)
- June 19, 2024, from 1:00-3:00pm at Legacy Sports Center (3270 Trethewey St)
We believe bringing communities together and strengthening the local food system requires collaborative action and hope you will be involved!
